Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

At Brannan Auto we work with customers and suppliers to integrate Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) directly into new product development and manufacturing methodology. Throughout the stages of a manufacturing project from project planning, product design, manufacturing process design, validation to mass production Brannan Auto engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers and Project Managers continuously foster communication between customer and manufacturer engineers.

Brannan Auto has implemented a number of APQP tools including process flow charts, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to help manufacturers implement an effective APQP strategy. Brannan Auto Supplier Quality Engineers work closely with manufacturers to develop and document new processes to eliminate errors and reduce process variation. Human relationships we build with factory management and interaction with factory staff allow us to effectively integrate these tools into the manufacturing process and repeatedly achieve success.

Brannan Auto management of the APQP process yields major reductions of design costs for our customers by significantly increasing engineering productivity and speeding up the design process. Our engineers intimately understand Chinese manufacturing processes and promote effective communication between the customer and manufacturer to encourage product design combining western engineering expertise with Chinese low cost manufacturing know how.

In China it is considered incredibly impolite to tell your customer there is something wrong with their product. This represents a huge cultural barrier to effective APQP which is difficult to understand by people who have not lived in China for many years. Brannan Auto employees work closely with manufacturers to bridge this cultural barrier and ensure suppliers provide continuous feedback, to ensure that APQP guidelines are followed throughout the manufacturing relationship.
